School Policy
Admission Requirements
- Students must have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent, or must be currently working toward obtaining one. Exceptions may be made depending on the circumstances. No credits from previous training or education may be transferred or applied to the LearnTranscription.com course.
- Students must agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by LearnTranscription.com, Inc. in its School Catalog and in the school’s Enrollment Agreement.
- Students should have basic keyboarding skills.
- Students should be conversant in basic English (reading, writing and speaking).
Enrollment Requirements
- A fully completed, signed, and dated Application for Admission and Enrollment Agreement must be submitted to LearnTranscription.com, Inc. for approval. The application will be kept in the student’s file.
- If a prospective student is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign the Application for Admission and Enrollment Agreement.
Granting of Credit
LearnTranscription.com, Inc. is not currently able to grant college credit for the LearnTranscription.com, Inc. course, nor for any previous education and/or experience.
Standards of Progress and Grading
The LearnTranscription.com, Inc. course is a self-contained, independent study program to be completed at each student’s own pace (within the one-year enrollment period). We leave it up to each individual student’s judgment as to how often they study and how fast they progress through the course. We have found, however, that students are most successful when they start the program as soon as they receive their course materials and when they set aside a specific time to study each day (or as often as their schedule permits). Students are also encouraged to make good use of their individually assigned student counselors whenever they have questions as they progress through the course. Students are encouraged to contact the school for assistance throughout their enrollment and for graduate support. However, the school office will be closed on the following Federal holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
The final exam consists of two parts: a written portion and a dictated (transcription) portion. Students will have two days to complete the exam, which should only take four to six hours, and send it back to LearnTranscription.com, Inc., at which time it will be hand-graded by a qualified member of the LearnTranscription.com, Inc. staff. Because our goal is to prepare students to be successful as medical transcriptionists, we require our students to pass each part of the final exam with an 85% or better, after which they will be issued a certificate of completion. The final exam may be taken as many as three times, each re-take being a new and different exam. Students must sign a statement that all work completed on the course, including the final exam, is their own.
Student Conduct
Students are expected to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by LearnTranscription.com, Inc. in its School Catalog and in the school’s Application for Admission and Enrollment Agreement. The final exam is to be the student’s own work (except that students may use the reference materials specified in the instructions and may call the LearnTranscription.com, Inc. office or their individually assigned student counselor with questions). Cheating will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate dismissal from the LearnTranscription.com, Inc. program.
Enrollment Period
The student has 12 months from the date he or she signs the Application for Admission and Enrollment Agreement to complete the course. This is considered the enrollment period. Extension beyond the initial 12-month enrollment period is available for a fee of $50.00 per each three-month extension. Extenuating circumstances will be exempt from the extension fee, upon approval by LearnTranscription.com, Inc.
Warranties and Conditions
1. Full Agreement: This signed agreement, when approved and accepted by LearnTranscription.com, Inc., represents the full and complete terms of the
agreement between LearnTranscription.com, Inc. and the Student. The Money Back Policy included with this application shall be considered a part
of this agreement for the student’s (applicant’s) protection.
2. Right to Rescind: The right to rescind shall mean the right of the student to rescind the admission application, which the student must exercise (if he
or she so chooses) in writing, and serve or mail postmarked within the three-business-days cooling off period following the date of signing of the
application. This right is in addition to the rights specified in the Money Back Policy.
3. Enrollment Period: The student has 12 months from the date he or she signs this agreement, to complete the course. This is considered the enrollment
period for each student. LearnTranscription.com, Inc. will stop servicing students who do not complete the course within the specified 12-month
enrollment period. Three-month extensions beyond the initial 12-month enrollment are available for $50.00. Extenuating circumstances may be
exempt from extension fee, upon LearnTranscription.com, Inc. approval.
4. Reference Materials: Reference materials, PC transcription foot pedal, and software will be sent upon receipt of a signed application, approval of application, and full payment.
5. Final Exam: The final exam consists of two parts: a written portion and a dictated (transcription) portion. LearnTranscription.com, Inc. requires
that each portion of the final exam be completed with an 85% or better. A
student may not take the final exam more than three times. Once the final exam is requested, the student is no longer eligible for a refund.
6. Warranties and Representations of Applicant: In signing the application, the student represents that he or she is eighteen (18) years of age or older,
or if under age 18, that his or her parent or legal guardian has read this agreement and agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this
agreement as attested by their signature on the front of this application.
7. Effect of Acceptance of Admission Application: Upon acceptance by LearnTranscription.com, Inc. of the signed application (unless rescinded as
provided herein), this document is binding and may not be thereafter changed in whole or in part except by written amendment to this agreement.
LearnTranscription.com, Inc. neither warrants nor represents that applicant is qualified for medical transcription or upon successful completion of
the course will be so qualified; and, because students’ aptitudes vary and job markets change, LearnTranscription.com, Inc. cannot and does not now
or in the future either written or verbally guarantee job placement to graduates upon their successful completion of the course.
8. Collection Costs: Returned checks will be assessed a fee of $18.00 per returned check or charge back.
9. Information Release: You represent that all of the information you provided to us in your Enrollment Agreement is true and correct to the best
of your knowledge and may be relied upon by us. You authorize LearnTranscription.com, Inc. and its Representative, Agent, or Assignee to make
whatever inquiries it deems necessary in the course of review or collection of any credit extended in reliance on this application. You further
authorize any person or Consumer Reporting Agency to complete and furnish to LearnTranscription.com, Inc. and its Representative, Agent, or
Assignee any information that it may have or obtain in response to such inquiries. A photo copy of this form is to be treated as an original.
10. Applicable Law: This agreement shall be governed by the Laws of the State of Michigan.
11. Copyright Information: All contents of the LearnTranscription.com, Inc. Medical Transcription Independent Study Course are copyrighted under the laws of the United States. You may not copy or reproduce these materials in any form and agree that you will not. This includes the sharing of passwords or access information to the online version of the course. Violators of this policy are subject to immediate dismissal from the program and legal remedies, without refund or recourse.
12. Appropriate Conduct: All students with access to the LearnTranscription.com, Inc. Student Forum and Chat Room agree to conduct themselves
appropriately and to use these resources in a positive manner for the benefit of themselves and other students. Illegal conduct, profane language,
and inappropriate discussion are considered a violation of this policy and can result in immediate dismissal from the program and legal remedies
without refund or recourse.
Money Back Policy
If, for any reason, a student withdraws WITHIN 10 days of being sent their log-in ID and password to the course: His or her money shall be refunded in full, less $25.00 application fee, and the enrollment agreement rescinded. Under this policy, the student must return any and all course materials and supplies received from the school before receiving their refund. The date the student received the course is considered the date the student’s log-in and ID were sent to the student. The student must notify LearnTranscription.com, Inc. by telephone before the 10th day of plans to cancel enrollment. When returning course materials, they must be postmarked within the 10 days. Course materials postmarked after the 10-day period will receive a graded refund based on the following scale: 11-15 days 75% (minus shipping, handling, and any damages); 16-20 days 50% (minus shipping, handling, and any damages); 21-25 days 25% (minus shipping handling, and any damages). If course materials are postmarked and received by LearnTranscription.com beyond 25 days following receipt of the course, NO monies for course materials shall be refunded. The student will be assessed a small fee of $10.00 if materials are returned damaged or destroyed. Protect returned materials when shipping them!
If, for any reason, a student withdraws AFTER 10 days of being sent their log-in ID and password to the course: The $25.00 application fee, shipping and handling fees, and the cost of the course materials are nonrefundable. The portion of the cost of the course attributable to tuition is $100. The balance of the cost of the course is attributable to the $25.00 application fee and the course materials. After the 10-day review period, tuition only is refundable according to the following schedule: 1-10 days, 100%; 11-18 days, 90%; 19-27 days, 60%; 28-36 days, 45%; 37-45 days, 30%. Any student withdrawing under this paragraph terminates his/her enrollment and his/her right to transfer the course enrollment and materials.
Any refund owed by LearnTranscription.com shall be returned within 30 days of the cancellation of enrollment.

NOTICE TO THE BUYER:
(1) Do not sign this agreement before you read it or if it contains any blank spaces.
(2) You are entitled to a completely filled-in copy of this agreement.
NOTICE: ANY HOLDER OF THIS CONSUMER CREDIT CONTRACT IS SUBJECT TO ALL CLAIMS AND DEFENSES WHICH THE DEBTOR COULD ASSERT AGAINST THE SELLER OF GOODS OR SERVICES OBTAINED PURSUANT HERETO OR WITH THE PROCEEDS HEREOF. RECOVERY HEREUNDER BY THE DEBTOR SHALL NOT EXCEED AMOUNTS PAID BY DEBTOR.
