Medical Transcription Training Program
The LearnTranscription.com, Inc. independent study training program for Medical Transcription is a comprehensive program designed specifically to train individuals for entry level employment as medical transcriptionists. The course provides concentrated training in the three fundamental areas of medical transcription: grammar, medical terminology, and keyboarding.

The LearnTranscription.com, Inc. course is offered only by independent study and is designed to be completed by students in their own homes and at their own pace. All necessary course materials and reference books are included with the course online.

Online – The online course utilizes the internet to provide students with modern practical experience on the computer and keyboard while learning medical transcription. Computerized grading, on-demand pronunciation of medical terminology, and the use of wav sound files for practice transcription save the student time, while enhancing their skills and knowledge. WavPlayer software and computer transcription foot pedal are included.

Students are responsible for providing the following minimum hardware and software requirements:

  Pentium-class PC
Windows 98/ME/XP/2000
32 MB of RAM
33.6 kbps modem
Monitor and video card capable of VGA (800 x 600)
Sound card and speakers (transcription headset recommended)
Available serial or USB port
Latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator (available via free download)
Real Audio browser plug-in (available via free download)
AOL Users - It is recommended that AOL users use a standard version of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer through the AOL ISP connection, rather than using the AOL browser
Macintosh Users - The Course may be taken online using a Macintosh computer, however, the practice dictation can only be done via the use of Virtual PC software and a USB foot pedal OR through the use of cassette tapes, rather than electronic files.
